As part of the Trust's work to improve and communicate the biodiversity of the area a signage project was initiated, producing easily made signs on plywood that gave optimum flexibility and effectiveness at low cost. In addition the Trust has kiwi silhouettes stencilled on the roads throughout Waimate North which are maintained regularly by volunteers. These are intended to increase awareness of kiwi and try to reduce kiwi road deaths. Messages include dog control advocacy, pest control, and notification of local events. Messages are changed frequently so as to create interest and keep the information fresh.
